The Costa del Sol is as famous for it's golf courses as it is for the sun, in fact it is also known as the Costa del Golf. It does not matter whether you are a budding Tiger Woods with a handicap in single figures, or just like to go and have a knock around with friends; there is a golf course to suit you. We use a booking agent who gets great discounts on all of the golf courses, and can also advise what courses are best suited for what standard of player. Although Sam loves to play golf he just would not have the time to try out all the courses himself, as there are just too many.

Within 15 minutes drive from the villa there are two superb golf courses, one is Baviera Golf and the other Añ oreta Golf. Both are very well kept courses with Añoreta being slightly more difficult. You can hire buggies and even book lessons if you need. Baviera is a new course and both have plenty of water hazards for you to lose your balls in. About 30 minutes from the villa there are a number of golf courses around the Malaga area, including Alhaurin and Torrequebrada, and further down the coast there are plenty more, with a choice of mountain or lynx courses.

If you play golf for the whole day a lunch at the clubhouse is normally included in the price, but it is always a good idea to ask Su to supply you with a cool box and drinks to put into your buggy. There are little drink huts around the courses but it's always nice to have your own with you. For the more experienced of you or those wanting to play specific courses, it is a good idea to write down your standard on the booking form, as some of the courses have to be booked well in advance. You will have to state how many players, the course difficulty, how many rounds, whether you require a buggy, and of course your preferred tea off time. We will then get back to you with a choice of golf courses and the prices. You can decide where you want to play and we will book everything for you. We have a couple of sets of golf clubs at the villa which guests are free to use, or they can be hired at the golf course.

Golf is best played in the cooler months from October to May as the midday sun in the summer can be too much for most people. However, there are some good deals during the summer months, and advanced booking can reserve early morning or evening tee off times. I am sure you will not be disappointed with any of the golf courses over here, and if you have visited before and have a favourite place to play, just let us know and we will make sure we add it to your week of activities. If you like your independence then you are quite welcome to hire your own car, and we can arrange that for you too. There is plenty of room to park cars at the side of the villa.
